Error -5.412.0 FIX for Licensing Server Problems In AutoCAD 2010

Error -5.412.0

Upon receiving a distress call for AutoCAD 2010 not connecting to the license server on a computer, I investigated the difficulty only to return up with: Error -5.412.0

Since there have been multiple computers all connecting to constant server while not a drag, i made a decision the pc affected had it’s own problems as critical my concern that the “license server” was having issues. Doing the nice ol’ Google search on the difficulty, I discovered an Autodesk forum where somebody instructed deleting the CASCADEINFO.CAS file from the pc. Not having something to lose at now, i made a decision instead to rename the file and not delete it. Once I re-opened the AutoCAD 2010 software, the pc connected to the server while not a problem!

So, all credit goes to the suggesting individual of the matter, however i’m trying to induce a lot of exposure to the fix in addition as document the fix for future use.

Windows XP Navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Adlm

Windows 7 (Vista?) Navigate to: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM

Rename or Delete: CASCADEINFO.CAS

Once this file is deleted: Restart AutoCAD 2010

Keep in mind this issue very solely applies to the -5.412.0 error at this time, unless there are alternative error codes you recognize of which will fix this drawback.

Also, as of 2010-May-11, there’s an update 2 for AutoCAD 2010. I personally haven’t had an opportunity to undertake this update (or looked into the changelog) to check if it fixes this re-occurring drawback, however it would be value an effort. If anyone is aware of (or has had luck) with the update, please be happy to depart a comment below and allow us to understand :) (source: http://thewichitacomputerguy.com/)
